My favorite part of working at LLB is
the autonomy and not having to be tied to my desk five days a week. I form and cultivate personal relationships with current and potential customers, members of my local and surrounding community as well as others that operate in the agricultural industry across the state. I enjoy going out and meeting with current and potential customers and looking at land, but I also enjoy the analytical side. There is something about crunching large, complex credits that I really enjoy, and it makes a work day go by in a flash.
I do what I do (at LLB) because
I enjoy it so much and the people here are the best. It truly is a family atmosphere at Louisiana Land Bank.
My favorite thing to do outside work is
hunting, fishing, watching LSU sports & riding around on the farm.
What most people don’t know about me is that
that I attended the 2000 British Open at St. Andrews in Scotland. Tiger won it with a total score of 19 under par. It was my second time to visit the course and Scotland.
The person who inspires me the most is
my grandfather, Johnny “Bo” Mitchell.
I give back by
sitting on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Louisiana American Red Cross. I’m the President of the Monroe/West Monroe chapter (Twin City Long Beards) of the NWTF. I am also on the committee of the local Northeast Louisiana chapter of Delta Waterfowl.
I am most grateful for
my family and my job.
Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn’t go a day without is
talking on the phone – might sound like a teenage girl but it’s true!
Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is
the first multi-million dollar deal I underwrote by myself that got approved by the LLB loan committee and then the FCBT prior approval. It was December 2010
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Spend time outdoors. Whether that is playing ball in the yard with my two boys, enjoying good weather on a golf course, or on a boat somewhere bowfishing, chances are you can find me outside if I’m not in the office.
What’s your favorite part of working at Louisiana Land Bank?
the family atmosphere. It’s amazing working with such a tight knit group of people who truly care about each other.
What most people don’t know about me is that
My love for sports (baseball specifically) goes back generations. My great-grandfather pitched three shutout innings in a game for the Shreveport Gassers and induced a weak ground out back to the pitcher in 1921. His opponent? Babe Ruth and the New York Yankees.
The person who inspires me the most is
My parents. The work ethic and positive attitude that was handed down to me from my parents has been invaluable throughout my life and career.
I give back by
Supporting my university. I am a third generation Louisiana Tech Bulldog!
Why do you do (for LLB)?
I spent the first 10 years of my career with Louisiana Land Bank in the Credit Department assisting our Loan Officers as they care for our borrowers. I am now a Loan Officer where I can use my knowledge and experience in Credit to serve our borrowers directly.
I am most grateful for
Family. My wife, Megan, and my two boys, are the most amazing blessings I could ever wish for.
Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn’t go a day without is
Technology. I guess I can blame this on my age! Growing up with a smart phone has spoiled me!
Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is
The day I accepted a job at Louisiana Land Bank. I didn’t know it at the time, but that day was the beginning of a truly satisfying career.
My favorite thing to do outside of work is
Spending family time with my wife, Stacey, and my children.
What you don’t know about me is that
I am a certified flight instructor.
I give back by
being present and active in the lives of my family, as a husband, and a parent. I am also civic minded and support foundations like The United Way in Northeast Louisiana, which is a vital organization that does so much for our community.
The person who inspired me the most is
is my dad, who recently passed in May 2023. He loved his family, his work, and his savior. He set a high bar and is something that I strive to replicate in my life.
I am most grateful for
I am most grateful for the Grace and Mercy of My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I cannot fathom that kind of love, that kind of cost, yet it is so free to everyone. What a gift! What a hope!
Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn’t go a day without is
I couldn’t go a day without talking/visiting with people, family, and friends.
Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is

trying to give back every day. I believe you should always be kind and respectful to everyone. You never know when your kind words can make someone’s day brighter.
My favorite part of working at Louisiana Land Bank is
everyone seems so nice!
The person who inspired me the most is
my mom. I have such a huge appreciation for what moms do every day for their children. I didn’t know just how much, until I had my twin boys, Bryce and Evan.
I am most grateful for
my twin boys, Bryce and Evan, our good health and just how blessed we have been in our lives.
Aside from food/water/shelter, the one thing I couldn’t go a day without is
sweet tea!
Shining professional moment I’m most proud of is
graduating from college and getting the opportunity to work here at LLB.
